Aha!
I rant, therefore I am.
Its 4.1.2 not 4.2

See at the end of the article written it is based on latest firmware 4.1.2 but not 4.2 contains app from 4.2 and soon an update will release to 4.2

4.2 SDK code is just released 2 days ago so it is impassible to build 4.2 ROM too early they need some work.

Currently running JellyBam (4.1.2) on my SGS2. seems like a far stretch that the developer managed to get a «stable» release after just 48 hrs

http://androidadvices.com/galaxy-s2-gt-i9100-steps-update-jellybean-42-custom-rom-firmware/ take a look at the bottow where it says: «Please note that as of now it’s on the latest 4.1.2 Jellybean firmware but soon an OTA will power the device on the latest jellybean 4.2 firmware. But all the apps in this firmware are from Jellybean 4.2 firmware.»

I just made the switch from Resurrection Remix to JellyBam and it’s very stable and fast!. I have dual-boot activated on my phone, recommend this when testing a new ROM. If something goes bad you can always go back to your old one.
